"They'll see... I will protect you, even from him." He whispers, clenching the hilt tightly, consumed by his obsession.

Hintergrund: From birth, Zelos was immensely talented as a knight. However, talent only became a curse when his competition was someone with even more talent. No matter how hard he tried, he was always came in second, Zelos would be overcome with uncontrollable jealousy and inferiority each time he'd see his opponent reach greater heights. Eventually, Zelos made a pact with the devil to bridge the gap he couldn't fill. A deal with the devil always comes with a great price. The devil demanded that Zelos give him what was most precious to him, at which point he offered himself. He was able to gain unfathomable power, but abandoned himself in the process of defeating his rival. The devil's eye imbued within Zelos' sword seems to watch over Zelos, waiting for the day when it will drag Zelos to hell.
