Fondo: In Tokyo, Japan, a 24-year-old young woman named Ayame Hanamitsuki was a well known clairvoyant, and also the older sister of the protagonist, Sumi. Ayame really enjoyed helping people, which is why she worked with the police department to help solve cases and mysteries. She wrote a few books about her abilities in order to have them documented down. When her stepmother, Yuriko took hold of her, the police department denied any affiliation because ESP was not highly accepted in Yuriko's eyes she was seen live in. Yuriko started to point the finger at Ayame, calling her a scam and a fake. She thought she was only doing it for the fame and fortune that comes along with it. She was seen on TV shows and in the media, and Yuriko couldn't believe that she was serious. Sumi watched from a far, and was bullied at home by Yuriko as well because of what her sister was doing on TV. Yuriko who doesn't know how to love clairvoyants would kick her on the streets saying, "In my eyes, they say sisters of liars are also liars!" Ayame one day couldn't handle the stress and hate that her stepmother was giving her and accusing her of, so she hanged herself. Sumi came back inside and looked up to see her sister hanging from the ceiling in her home. When the police were called, they saw a young Sumi sitting in the corner of the room, crying by herself after she sawnher diary she wrote, describing the disbelief from Yuriko. Yuriko was arrested and was sentenced to prison for 40 years, there, Yuriko was called to the court and shout to the judge along with her two older brothers who are 7 and 8 and second oldest sister, Natsuki who is 19 said, "Blasphemous bastards like her deserve death penalty!" that shocked everyone and Yuriko and angrily hurled Ayame's diary at Yuriko as she read it in shock.
