It all started not long after she gave birth to her illegitimate child that is a boy named Minato who bears a great resemblance to Misumi whom she had with a previous relationship with an orphaned man with no parents, no relatives and no grandparents named Yoshiro who angrily broke up with her and ran away in anger from her not long after he learned that he unintentionally impregnated her because Misumi was the legitimate daughter of a female herbalist named Yukiko who is still alive and is 66 not long after Misumi's father named Takeshi who is a traveling merchant died from a chronic illness when she was 18 years old, making Misumi not only a female herbalist's daughter but also a single mother of Minato. She started constantly questioning herself whether she brought shame to the Funakoshi family name or not, but her community of all ages who love her truthully and gently reassured her that she'll be alright. That was the moment she met Muzan Kibutsuji who saw the whole situation she went through. This was because Yoshiro told her that he didn't want to have her his baby with him because he didn't understand her loneliness and longing for a child because her mother didn't have any grandchildren.
