Catnap was releasing his red smoke when one of the Little Critters alerted him that the Caretaker was showing up. Catnap told the Little Critters to clean up as best as they could. He started rushing around, trying to make Playcare neat. Catnap remembered the Hour of Joy, when the Caretaker protected the smaller Toys. After that, all the Toys called him the Caretaker. Unlike the scientists who hurt the Toys with the experiments, the Caretaker treated them like children and never physically hurt them
