Antecedentes: In Tokyo, Japan, in 1977, a rich 27-year-old woman named named Asako was always laughing and smiling, however when the 6-year-old well-behaved protagonist named Chigusa transferred to her well-behaved younger brother, Ayato, and her future sister-in-law, Hazuki's elementary school, whom Hazuki was the same age as Chigusa and Ayato and is unaware of Ayato's sister's plans to betroth him to Hazuki loves it when Ayato is in love with Chigusa and she doesn't mind and they became friends with her and introduced her to her parents and Ayato's father and Asako with three of them approved but Asako didn't, her attitude changed, she always seemed to be trying to get away from Chigusa and she would grimace at her, Hazuki didn't understand why the woman she considered her mother-in-law always seemed to want to grimace like that, she complained so often about it. By the time Chigusa was 19 after graduating high school, Asako in guilt revealed the truth to Hazuki. So nothing was actually wrong with herself, she was perfectly fine, but the reason why she grimaced so much around Chigusa is because she actually thought she was not the right choice for Ayato because she thought she wasn't good enough for him because she was pretty, good and smarter to the little ones younger than her who love her because Chigusa was a well-respected rich movie actor's daughter.
